Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary, Nellore,Andhra Pradesh

Pulicat Lake is the second largest brackish – water lake or lagoon in India, after Chilika Lake. It straddles the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu states on the Coromandal Coast in South India.

The Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary is biologically endowed with a diverse range of biological habitats. The wide ranges of miniature ecosystems that exist in this ecologically sensitive area include 160 species of fish, 12 species of prawn, 25 species of polychaete worms, 19 species of mollusk, etc. This Sanctuary is especially known for its migratory birds including some of the commonest wetland birds namely Garganey, Marsh Sandpiper, Gadwall, Shoveler, and Black-tailed Godvit and most notably, during the colder months, the sanctuary attracts up to 15,000 Flamingoes.
 
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary is between October to March. The temperature is mild and pleasant and makes travelling to the area easy. This is also the best time to observe the migratory birds and especially the flamingos. Seeing the Flamingos in the wetland is a once in a lifetime experience.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) will setup New Plant at Nimmakuru,Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati : The Bharat Electronics Limited will set up a Rs.250-crore plant at Nimmakuru in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh to make IR seekers, night vision devices and thermal imaging cameras.
The plant will be operational in three years. This will be the second manufacturing facility of BEL after Machilipatnam. The turnover at Machilipatnam was between Rs.400 crore and Rs.500 crore and that of the proposed new plant will much higher, said S.K. Sharma, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of BEL. He told The Hindu on the sidelines of a national conference on `Advances in Sensors: Lab to field'.
Today Mr. Nara chandra babu Naidu Honble CM Andhra Pradesh will lay foundation for  BEL advanced night vision products manufacturing unit.

Helicopter‬ joy rides for ‪‎Krishna Pushkaralu‬

The pilgrims visiting ‪Vijaywada‬ city for ‪Krishnapushkaram‬ are offered with an opportunity to have a joy ride on helicopter around the city. The Pawan Hans Ltd., a Government of India Enterprise in association with Andhra Pradesh Tourism and the Krishna district administration has been operating helicopter Joy rides for the pilgrims from Loyola College Ground during the 12-day river festival.
This aerial ride will give pilgrims a wonderful glimpse of Vijayawada, the capital region, the river, ghats and temples. The duration of this helicopter ride will be exactly 8 minutes in which boarding and de-boarding are included as well.

Prakasam Barrage lightning up for Krishna Pushkaralu

vijayawada : Praksam Barrage is lightning on the event of  Krishna Pushkaralu in a grand manner. Around 304 lights with different colors are placed at the down of the barrage and around 332 lights at the top of the barrage.it is lit up in a glorious array of glittering lights.

TTD's Srivari replica temple opened in Vijayawada for Krishna Pushkaralu

Amaravati : On the occasion of Krishnamma Pushkaralu, The replica temple of Lord Venkateswara constructed by TTD in PWD grounds of Vijayawada opened today.The devotees who are coming up for the holy Krishna Pushkaralu will get the opportunities to have a darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Vijayawada.

All the arjitha sevas including suprabhatam, thomala, archana, nivedana and sattumora will be performed in ekantam.Every day there will be unjal seva of the Lord and His consorts on a well-decked swing in the temple premises. The Pushkara harati will also be rendered every day at the Padmavathi ghat.

The TTD has also made elaborate arrangements to distribute free food to over 1 lakh devotees every day during Pushkarams.Devotees will be offered `Chakkera Pongali’ and `Pulihora’ as Anna Prasadam apart from Mini-Laddu prasadam. Anna Prasadam will be served to 25,000 devotees every day.It has also arranged cultural programmes at the replica temple, Amaravati, Srikakulam and Jogulamba temple in Alampur.

The serene banks of river Krishna are excitement with a 120-foot-long cruise getting ready to hit the waters. it is ready for launch on  August 7th.CM N.Chandrababu Naidu, will inaugurate this on August 7th and it is going to sail on the river.The project, taken up Bangalore–based Champion Group, once completed, will be add colour to the city’s lifestyle as it will cater to social events and functions.

“This boat is being made for tourism and this will give the people a new experience. The hall, spread over 1,600 square feet, will accommodate nearly 200 travellers and the boat will have facilities such as bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen. The boat can be hired for outings on the river,”.

Krishnaveni idol will install for Krishna Pushkaralu By Telangana government

Hyderabad: The state government will install a statute of goddess Krishnaveni on the banks of the Krishna at Beechpally in Mahbubnagar for the first Krishna Pushkaralu in the new state. It will be unveiled by Chief Minster K. Chandrasekhar Rao on August 12, when the pushkaralu begin. The old statute, made of concrete and Plaster of Paris, was damaged during the floods in 2009.

Sculptor N. Nagababu from Gouthampally in Telkapally mandal of Mahbubnagar district was chosen to prepare the two statues. An official from said that one statue would be unveiled at the Hanuman temple at Beechpally on the banks of the Krishna near the Pushkar ghat and another at the collectorate to mark the first pushkaralu. “When the collector visited Telkapally earlier, she was impressed by the sculptures designed by Mr Nagababu picked him for his skills,” the official said.

Mr Nagababu, a student of prominent sculptor Janardhanacharyulu of Ongole, said he was given the order 10 days back and work begun the same day. “We will hand them by August 7,” he said. Each statue will be 10 feet tall, and the sculptor has opted for Martur stones from Prakasam district. “The black and blue stone from Martur has a long life,” he said.

He said that the statues would be expensive, with raw material and craftsmanship costing about Rs 1.5 lakh each.
