Saraswati Anthya Pushkaralu 2026: arrangements ready at Kaleshwaram

Kaleshwaram- Saraswati Anthya Pushkaralu 2026

The Telangana state government and temple authorities have finalized all arrangements for the grand spiritual event, Saraswati Anthya Pushkaralu 2026, held at the holy Kaleshwara Muktheeshwara Swamy temple zone. Dubbed the "Dakshina Kashi," this sacred confluence is gearing up to welcome millions of devotees for the 12-day festival starting tonight.

From massive transport arrangements to continuous medical aid and uninterrupted power supply, here is a comprehensive guide to what is happening at Kaleshwaram.

 Event Schedule and Spiritual Significance

  • Commencement: The auspicious Pushkara Kaalam begins on Wednesday night, May 20, 2026.

  • Official Opening: On Thursday early morning (May 21, 2026) at 5:30 AM, Kanchi Peethadhipati Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamy will officially initiate the holy Pushkara baths.

  • Duration: The festival runs for 12 days, concluding on June 1, 2026.

  • Unique Significance: While Prayagraj is famous for the Saraswati river confluence in North India, Kaleshwaram is the only location in South India where Saraswati Pushkaralu can be celebrated, as the river flows here as an Antarvahini (underground river) alongside the Godavari and Pranahita rivers.

 Government Budget and Infrastructure Upgrades

The state government has sanctioned ₹30 Crores to complete permanent and temporary infrastructure works to ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims.

  • Ghat Enhancements: The Main Ghat and Saraswati Ghat have been widened.

  • Approach Roads: Temporary roads have been constructed to help devotees walk smoothly right up to the water's edge where the current flow is safe.

  • Kashi-Style Harathi: Mirroring the famous Ganga Harathi of Varanasi, Kashi pandits have built a specialized 9-step platform to offer a magnificent Navaratna Harathi every single evening during the 12-day festival.

Logistics & Transport: Over 3,300 Buses Deployed

To manage the massive influx of pilgrims from across Telangana, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, extensive transport plans are in motion:

  • TSRTC Special Buses: A fleet of 3,360 buses will run 5,772 trips into Kaleshwaram, as confirmed by Warangal Regional Manager S. Bhavani Prasad.

  • Temporary Bus Station: A sprawling temporary bus terminal spanning 4.36 acres has been erected, complete with summer-ready waiting sheds.

  • Free Shuttle Services: Mini-buses will offer free rides transporting devotees from the temporary bus stands directly to the bathing ghats.

  • Massive Parking: 250 acres of dedicated land have been prepared for private vehicles, supplemented by one-way traffic rules to prevent congestion.

 Health, Safety, and Emergency Management

With over 40 Lakh (4 million) devotees expected, safety and health are top priorities:

  • Medical Camps: The Health Department has set up 16 medical camps staffed by roughly 600 medical personnel working in shifts.

  • Emergency Vehicles: 8 dedicated '108' ambulances, state-of-the-art advanced life-support emergency vehicles, and 5 bike ambulances are stationed across the venues.

  • Water Safety: Expert swimmers and boats are deployed along the Godavari riverbanks to monitor the crowds and prevent any mishaps.

 24/7 Power Supply and Conveniences

To guarantee zero power interruptions during the festivities, TSNPDCL CMD Varun Reddy announced heavy-duty grid enhancements:

  • Installation of specialized electricity poles at crucial ghat locations.

  • Laying down 5 km of 11 KV power lines and 12 km of LT lines, backed by 18 new transformers.

  • Four divisional engineers along with specialized line inspectors will monitor operations 24/7.

  • Tent Cities: Massive shade-providing tent cities have been raised near the Godavari banks to shelter traveling families.

 VIP Invitations Extended

Official invitations for the festival have been proudly extended to Telangana State Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and several state ministers.
